Dr. John Agate graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Toronto. Upon graduation he joined his father, Dr. Thomas Agate, in the family dental practice originally opened in 1952.
Dr. John and Dr. Tom worked alongside each other, as well as with both Mrs. Agate's, for almost 30 years. They have provided continuous care for the community for over 70 years.
Born and raised in Beamsville, Dr. John has lived and practiced in the community all his life.
Outside of the practice, Dr. John enjoys spending time with his 2 daughters and their families, which includes 5 grandchildren. Walking, cycling and gardening are his way of enjoying the beautiful outdoors of the Niagara region.
Dr. Sahil Khanna is a dedicated and experienced dentist with over a decade of expertise in comprehensive dental care. He began his journey in dentistry by earning a Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree in India in 2010. Following this, he completed a residency program and successfully operated his own dental practice.
Driven by a passion for dentistry and a commitment to lifelong learning, Dr. Khanna relocated to Canada, where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree in 2024 from the University of Western Ontario. During his time at Western, he refined his skills in advanced dental techniques, enabling him to provide exceptional care to patients of all ages, from toddlers to seniors.
Beyond his clinical practice, Dr. Khanna is also a dedicated educator. He mentors internationally trained dentists, helping them excel in clinical exams and gain admission to DDS programs in Canada and the United States.
In his personal life, Dr. Khanna enjoys spending quality time with his niece and nephew, socializing with family and friends, and embracing his vibrant, party-loving personality.
Born and raised in Stoney Creek, Jessica has dedicated over 15 years to the field of dentistry, blending her clinical expertise with a strong passion for operations and patient care. Her career is marked by a deep commitment to both the science of dentistry and the art of building meaningful relationships with her teams and patients.
Jessica’s journey in dentistry has been driven by a continuous pursuit of knowledge and excellence. She remains at the forefront of her field through regular engagement with the latest dental studies and ongoing professional development. Her enthusiasm for learning ensures that she consistently provides the highest standard of care.
A notable aspect of Jessica’s career is her dedication to giving back. Each year, she travels to the Mayan Mountains of Guatemala to offer dental care to communities. This work reflects her broader commitment to making a positive impact beyond her local practice.
Diane graduated from Ryerson (Metropolitan) University with a degree in Early Childhood Education. Diane and Dr. John met while at university and were married in 1983. Diane has worked in the practice on and off since Dr. John started, taking time to work in daycares and to raise their two daughters.
Diane has worked as an assistant, receptionist, bookkeeper and office manager over the years and enjoys connecting with patients and their families. She considers it a real privilege getting to know so many people in the community.
Diane enjoys spending time with her daughters and 5 grandchildren, and her elderly father. She loves to read and enjoys music in her down time.
Lori graduated from Dental Assisting at Niagara College with honours in June 1995. Growing up and living in Grimsby most of her life she was fortunate to secure a Chairside Assisting position with a local favourite father/son Dental Practice. She enjoyed Assisting for both Dr. Tom and Dr. John Agate over her 28+ years.
She maintains her Ontario Dental Assistant Associate (ODAA) certification with ongoing continuing education and has complimented her Assisting skills with a Dental Receptionist Certification.
She enjoys our customers and attempts to diffuse anxiety during your dental visits. Lori can frequently be seen giggling, joking, and dancing, while accomplishing her tasks. She is delighted to join Beamstown Dental Group at this location and looks forward to new learning opportunities and relationships in her continuing career.
Fun Fact - Lori loves comfort. To live in only scrubs or pajamas is the path to authentic life.
Trina graduated with honours from Niagara College as a Level II Dental Assistant in 2006. She maintains her certification through the Ontario Dental Assistant Association (ODAA). Trina came to Dr. Agate's practice during Lori P's maternity leave in 2007 and was asked to stay following Lori's return.
Lori P says Trina creates magic behind the scenes to make our office run smoothly. She has been very fortunate to work with compassionate, knowledgeable, and gracious people for the past 18 years. It's clear to our patients that we all work well together, and their dental health is our top priority.
Fun Fact - Trina loves day trips exploring the local area with my family and relaxing with a good book.
Emmily is a registered dental hygienist who graduated with honours from Georgian College in 2016. As part of her commitment to her patients, she enjoys educating people about the benefits of good dental care and how it can help them achieve their optimal oral and overall health. Emmily looks forward to helping her patients improve their dental health while enjoying their visits to Beamstown Dental Group.
Born and raised in Hamilton, Emmily enjoys fishing, spending time outdoors, and relaxing with family and friends in her spare time.
